Throwing Caution to the Wind

The Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance spends big on high-risk projects that, even if successful, will leave Canadians with little show for it.

A Big Deal

Few decisions have been as consequential for Canada's nuclear sector as the upcoming technology selection at Bruce C. By investing in a 1,000 MW CANDU reactor design, we can make the most of it.

The Case for CANDU

Despite the immense advantages of CANDU nuclear power, Ontario has no plans to build new units. We urge the government and nuclear sector to work towards new builds. In this report, we explain why Ontario's homegrown nuclear technology is its best option in a time of rising electricity demand.

Include CANDU in the Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit

The exclusion of the technology underpinning Canada's entire low-carbon nuclear sector amounts to reverse protectionism.

SAVE PICKERING

Ontario's world-class low-carbon grid is unprepared for the loss of 3,100 megawatts of clean, reliable power from the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. We urge the Government of Ontario to direct OPG to extend the operating life of this invaluable asset.

The Canada Green Bond Framework Needs a Rework

Thank you to the 10,544 Canadians who stood up for jobs, clean air, and climate by signing our petition, read before the House of Commons, to include nuclear energy in the Canada Green Bond Framework.

The Nuclear Consensus

The scientific consensus is clear. All credible pathways to net zero call for nuclear energy. The Government of Canada must act now to champion this proven climate solution.

COP26

At the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference, known as COP26, C4NE President Dr. Chris Keefer asked Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, a simple question. It unleashed national conversation on the benefits of nuclear energy.

Petition read in the House of Commons

Thanks to the 5,800 Canadians who added their signature, our pro-nuclear petition was read before the House of Commons in Parliament. This is more than 5x the number of signatures collected by an anti-nuclear petition that was circulating at the time.
